Global Crossing uses a lot of resellers and they have one of the best easiest to use systems to find the reseller for a specific toll free number. Call 1-800-466-4600 and just follow their prompts. Press, 1 followed by toll free number and have a pen ready. They will tell you the phone number of the reseller that they show the number with. The best thing is that the smaller resellers are usually not as worried about giving out any information as the bigger companies.

      You’re not their customer. Even if it was your number, you’re probably not their customer because most of their numbers are through resellers. So the customer for that number is a customer of one of their customers. So all you’re trying to do with them is usually find out who the reseller is, which you can do pretty easily with the automated system. That’s why I like and use that number, not because they give you the customer information. They’re NOT supposed to do that and asking them directly is a sure way to get anyone to shut down and make sure to tell you nothing. You have to have a little more finesse than that, and you have to be willing to go through some unhelpful people to get to the helpful one.

        Like everyone else I heard that vanity 800#s were good for business but when I called Embark, my phone company for a vanity number it was like talking to my kids in the morning to 'get up'...I got no answers.
