As I'm sure others new to obtaining a toll-free number have discovered, trying to learn about the various services, plans, and providers can be overwhelming. There are pitfalls: The fine print of some contracts indicates that the 800-number you obtain through them "belongs" to--or is leased by--the service provider, and if you wish to change providers, you will have to change numbers as well.
