Smsgov.com is trying to hijack the toll free industry
The Fake SMS800 wrote something trying to suggest that it is illegal to SELL toll free numbers. No matter what their intentionally misleading name and website tries to suggest, sms800.com isn’t connected in any way to the FCC or any government agency or the SMS. In fact they’re not connected to anyone whatsoever, except maybe Logan Marshall.
For the record, there is nothing that says it’s illegal to SELL toll free numbers. The Real FCC regulations are only against BROKERING toll free numbers. Brokering means buying and selling, or acquiring for the purpose of selling.
FCC Sec. 52.107 Hoarding.
(a) As used in this section, hoarding is the acquisition by a toll free subscriber from a Responsible Organization of more toll free numbers than the toll free subscriber intends to use for the provision of toll free service. The definition of hoarding also includes number brokering, which is the selling of a toll free number by a private entity for a fee.
(1) Toll free subscribers shall not hoard toll free numbers.
(2) No person or entity shall acquire a toll free number for the purpose of selling the toll free number to another entity or to a person for a fee.
I don’t really know what the purpose of the putting our false information would be. The fake sms800.com constantly cries in post after post, and their fake press releases, how there are no toll free numbers available any more despite the Real SMS800’s reports and statistics. This past week’s report for instance showed that at the current rate, we would have enough toll free numbers to last for up to 25 years!
I don’t know why anyone would want to make up a completely fake organization (the Tollfree Advisory Committee TAC doesn’t exist at all) and make a website registered to make it look like a legitimate government related site. However in reality it’s registered to a fake address in the Netherlands to hide who owns and controls it. We believe it’s owned by Marshall Logan from Tollfreenumber.org but the purpose of it is a big mystery.
Whatever the reason for it, they are clearly up to no good or they wouldn’t be making up so many fake 800 number stories and working so hard to hide their true identity. Smsgov.com is the darkest part of the toll free industry and until the Real FCC does something about them nobody’s going to believe that the FCC is serious about policing or cleaning up this industry.
In the mean time every swipe they take at my business only proves my honesty and integrity, because crooks always complain about the people doing the right thing!

This service was so easy to use and I was able to quickly incorporate it into my TV Commercial being aired this week.
