FAKE SMSgov site repeating fake stories

More lies from the SMSgov

The FAKE SMS site posted a story today about the Wall Street Journal saying that it RECENTLY said, “…having a toll-free number is quite cheap these days when you consider the benefits it can offer a fledgling business. Making it easier for prospective customers to call — and to remember what to dial — will only boost call volume, and your sales potential.” The Wall Street Journal also stated “Studies have found that toll-free numbers used in advertising produce many more calls than standard phone numbers.”

That sounds nice, and what they’re saying may be correct, but the Wall Street Journal didn’t say that, at least according to Google they didn’t recently. Doing a Google search on the WSJ site site:online.wsj.com “toll free” brings up a number of feeds and articles that mention the word toll free, mostly next to a company’s toll free number. Adding the word “fledgling” narrows it down to one article about climate change. And searching for a whole phrase from their quote anywhere on the web pulls up nothing but their site and one or two more websites where they apparently got the quote without bothering to check anything and decided to pass it off as current news.

FCC allows a fake gov site to spread fake news stories

The fake SMS site is putting out fake news stories about the FCCDoesn’t the FCC or the Real SMS care that the fake SMS (smsgov.com) is spreading fake news stories about the toll free industry? Does it bother the FCC that a secret organization hiding their identity behind a fake Netherlands address is pretending to be a government authority? Is making up a completely fake organization that looks like part of the government allowed? Why does smsgov have a government type seal on their homepage and have sms and gov in their name if they’re not trying to make people think that they’re related to them?

The Fake SMS is trying to scare people into thinking we’re out of 800 numbers all together and that they’re able to lie and make up so many posts? Letting this anonymous person write post after post designed to scare people and create an uproar, makes the FCC look like they don’t care about what anyone does in the toll free industry. I hate government intrusion and am very conservative almost libritarian at times, but the things the smsgov is saying are wrong and it is clearly wrong and are bad for the industry and make the FCC look powerless to shut them down.

Allowing an anonymous person to look like a gov entity and put out fake news is clearly a security risk!

Smsgov.com is trying to hijack the toll free industry

smsgov.com hijacking the toll free industryThe Fake SMS800 wrote something trying to suggest that it is illegal to SELL toll free numbers. No matter what their intentionally misleading name and website tries to suggest, sms800.com isn’t connected in any way to the FCC or any government agency or the SMS. In fact they’re not connected to anyone whatsoever, except maybe Logan Marshall.

For the record, there is nothing that says it’s illegal to SELL toll free numbers. The Real FCC regulations are only against BROKERING toll free numbers. Brokering means buying and selling, or acquiring for the purpose of selling.

Ignore what the Fake SMS800 site says and read the real facts about the FCC regulations!

Smsgov.com is using Forbes.com CBS News and TD Ameritrade for Fraud

I wrote earlier about how Smsgov.com was using the Wikipedia for fraud or more specifically to add credibility to their fraud. Now smsgov.com is using Forbes, CBS and Ameritrade. They put out a press release about their fake shortage of toll free numbers and it gets picked up by some news feeds on other sites, some of which sound very credible. Then Smsgov.com links to those sites with their logos. Visitors don’t realize that it’s just a news feed and that the website mentioning it isn’t checking or verifying it. And voila! Suddenly their fake press release allows them to say all these credible sites are agreeing with them.

Click here to see their sms pages. I’ve highlighted the Forbes one because that shows how hard they’re trying to say that because it got onto one of the most trusted sites, it’s therefore valid. Yet it’s TOTALLY bogus. There have been between 6 and 7 million toll free numbers available forever. We’re going to run out in about 20 years at the current rate. Somehow they conveniently forget to include any specifics. They just talk about experts saying how the sky is falling. And now they say that these trusted websites agree that the sky is falling so it must be true.

See for yourself how they’re using news feeds on credible sites to mislead people.

Thank you smsgov for making a great introduction!

Smsgov.COM is a obviously scam site designed by TollFreeNumber.org to look credible in order to trash people anonymously.

Ironically the recent smsgov.com article attacking ePhoneNumbers.net and TollFreeNumbers.com actually wound up introducing us and opening the door to what I think may be a great long term relationship. So something good does come out of even the Stupidest SCAM websites sometimes.

Thanks for all your help. Although the vanity number I wanted was unavailable, I was able to get a good easy to dial 800 number. I also wanted to point out the importance of knowing without any doubt, that I own the 800 number I bought and will always be able to port it to any company I choose for service. I can be this certain because, unlike other companies that sell 800 numbers and ALSO provide monthly service, your company only sell the number. Therefore, I don't have to worry that there might be some fine print that I missed and have some company refuse to release my number so that I'll be forced to continue paying for their service each month.

Last, I should point out that I would not have gone to the trouble to write and send this letter unless I was very happy with your service. Thanks again.

I used to be in the Wireless business and KNOW for a fact that your services are needed, whether people know it or not!! I used to own over 180 (one hundred eighty) toll free numbers! It was literally impossible to request a vanity number from any of my providers, when my customers asked I told them to forget about it! Your service is very valuable for the people who know that time is MONEY!!

When we were just starting our business we realized that it is important to have all our advertising be congruent... i.e.

            • Business Name
            • Domain Name
            • Telephone Number
            • 800 Telephone Number
            • License Plate Acronym

Your service was crucial in helping us match our business name with our telephone number. Your site is easy to use, and provides immediate results. We like that!
