It’s not that we have a specific deadline but you should read this post about the cost of waiting to transfer your toll free number and this one about faking it till you make it.
There are several Real Estate specific enhanced voicemail services like VoiceConnectInc.com. Another good voicemail I am going to add to our manual is DiamondVoice.com. Take a look at those or any of the ones in the toll free manual.
The ones with the lowest prices in that category tend to be a little light on customer service which can be alright if you are going to set it up and leave it. But remember that this is the front door to all of your new business so you don’t necessarily want the cheapest the way you would if you were picking your long distance company, because there is much more difference from one company to another in these.

I am interested in a toll-free number that also has voice mail. If a number sequence should be available using the words CAREERP (for career placement services) that would be fine, otherwise, the best and easiest number that is available is acceptable. Any number you find with our look up tool can be used with and transferred to any voicemail service. 8**-CAREERS which would also be Career Placement isn’t available but you can try other variations. Just because careerplacement.com wasn’t available doesn’t mean you should just take any random domain name or that you can’t get a good domain name.
The second part of your question “best and easiest number available” is kind of hard to answer. Because if there was a straight forward answer to this, like a simple list the numbers on it would all already be taken. But it’s a database with millions of numbers so you have run specific queries to find what you think would be “good”.

Everyone else is trying to sell you THEIR service. So your question would make sense in that situaiton. However, we’re different. We’re the only Open Source toll free service. We help you get the best number and then help you transfer it to use with any other service you want. We’re the only ones that aren’t trying to sell you the ongoing service. So we can be more honest in our suggestions and help you not only find the best service, but if they don’t turn out to be as good as you thought, or something better just comes along, you can transfer it away at any time.
If you get it from any other online service, they almost all have fine print in their terms saying that they own the number and you can’t transfer it away without their permission. That means the more you advertise the number and your customers get used to calling you on it, the more at their mercy you become. If they don’t have to be competitive to continue to earn your business or do a good job, they won’t. Your ability to transfer the number to anyone else is what keeps them honest and insures you’ll always have the best price and service, or you transfer the number and service somewhere else. That’s what you get from us that you don’t get if you get the number anywhere else.
In terms of the enhanced voicemail services you’re referring to I would suggest looking at three or four different companies that are excellent and do a good job. I would take a look at FreedomVoice.com, VirtualPBX.com, Kall8.com and Callture.com. They each have slightly different strengths but they’re all good companies and will do a good job. There’s no one company that’s the best for everything despite what the person trying to sell you their service wants you to believe. I would avoid RingCentral.com if at all possible and any of the j2 companies like Onebox too.
Also realize that regular toll free service is a commodity, meaning it’s the same no matter what phone company you go to. Like milk it tastes the same no matter what store you get it at. But the enhanced voicemail services add their own extra stuff to it and it varies more from company to company like a milk shake. You can shop price for milk, but the cheapest isn’t necessarily the smartest for a milk shake company. Regular toll free service goes down to about 3 cents per minute and $2 per month. The big name companies like Verizon and AT&T will be twice that, and everyone else will be somewhere in between. The enhanced voicemail services will usually be around 5 cents per minute and at least $10 a month because you’re paying for the voicemail and additional processing.
