David,

That's a simple request but impossibly enormous to do. The list would be over 7 million at any given time. If I sent it to you your email would probably blow up. And even if it didn't blow up all you could do is run searches against a database like that. If I printed 500 numbers per page that would take 14,000 pages to print, or almost a case and a half of paper with fine print and multiple columns per page.

Even if you had it right on your computer you probably couldn't do searches as quickly or easily as our look up tool does exactly that and a little more. We provide the tools to find numbers. Giving you a list that would be out of date by the time you downloaded it really wouldn't help you at all.

I've even gone so far as to send people a list of a couple hundred numbers coming that actually spell things to prove that even a short list of numbers that spell valuable terms is still almost impossible for people to find the best numbers, let alone having millions of numbers most of which don't spell much of anything. Even a computer honestly has difficulty crunching that.

See also this post about Crunching the 800 number database: http://www.tollfreenumbers.com/blogs/lookup/crunching-the-800-number-database.html for more.

Mr. Quimby,

I’m extremely impressed with your service and have been sharing your website with many of my fellow associates. I am too the point of needing to secure a toll free number myself.

I have developed a vanity number which I believe will work for my business, even though it is not my first choice. When I call the number, I receive a recorded message it has been disconnected; yet, when I do a search on your website for the number, it informs me the number has been in use with one of the big phone companies since 2005.

How do I go about securing the number through you, and what would the total charge be? I’m sure the information on how to go about it is somewhere within your website, but to be honest I just don’t have the time to be reading through the wealth of information contained on your site. I felt a quick email would be more effective, especially after reading the glowing testimonials on your site.

Lee,

There are lots of reasons why a number may be going to a disconnect message, but not be in disconnect in the national database, just like there are a lot of reasons why a domain name may not be going to a webpage but may not be available or even pending in the domain name system.

In terms of what the charges are, <a href="http://www.tollfreenumbers.com/content/consulting/we-are-real-estate-agents-not-bounty-hunters.html" rel="nofollow">we’re not bounty hunters </a>so unfortunately we really can’t go get you things that aren’t available or just wave our magic wand to make them become available. Another way to say it is that <a href="http://www.tollfreenumbers.com/blogs/search/1-800-matchmaking.html" rel="nofollow">We’re like Match.com</a> and if the person you want isn’t available with us, we can’t go try to recruit them for you, (like your mother might).

We have a lot of information and I try to make it easy to search or browse. Let me know if you have any questions or need any help with anything else.
