Start with the Instant 800 Lookup

Instant 800 LookupThe Instant 800 Lookup on the top of the page allows you to check any specific number (with letters or digits). When it says “In use”, that means that number is NOT available because it’s already active for another customer. I’m sure that sounds obvious to most people but you wouldn’t believe the number of people that ask if that means it’s “available.”Â

The Instant 800 Lookup checks live into the SMS800 database and if it’s available it will say “Currently Available” and give you links to Activate or Reserve the number for 15 days. It will also show a couple other things when it’s able including numbers in disconnect which can be backordered. There is more information on the messages and what they mean in the Instant 800 Lookup section.

Is there a way to find sequential numbers with your lookup tool?

      David,

Although the SMS lookup does favor and often display sequential numbers, there’s no easy way to look for just sequential numbers. Give us a call tomorrow and we may be able to help you with this personally during the day though. The direct SMS system does have a sequential option. It’s just not part of the web lookup. Not yet at least… Hey Bud! :-D

Our toll free numbers are accessible nationwide by default. You can add Canada or a few territories mostly in the Caribbean too if you want, although they cost a little more. The simple way to explain it is that you can’t call a toll free number in the North American Numbering Plan from anywhere that you have to dial a country code to reach the US. Unfortunately there is no great solution for worldwide toll free numbers. On the other hand since there’s no common world wide toll free system

There are UIFN numbers but they have to be set up country by country. You can also set up separate toll free numbers in many countries or work with a service that has different local access numbers already set up in each different country. But none of that is as easy as regular toll free numbers are here. Most people who do business outside of the US, list a local number and their email address. You could also use a service like skype to get a US number which would allow you to get through on a US toll free number. You could also use one of the click to talk services like GizmoCall.com which would allow someone to download a small program to access the US numbering system through the Internet.

When I got my HP laptop, it came with a whole booklet of contact numbers. I laughed because that really illustrated that there is definitely no simple solution to receive calls worldwide. But you can forward calls from within the North America to almost anywhere in the world. This is very helpful for companies outside of the US looking to expand within the US. See http://www.telcan.net/, (also under http://www.callture.com/) http://www.uwtcallback.com/ or http://www.get1800.com/. Al of these companies can forward toll free service basically anywhere in the world and control it with a portal.

I am so happy that my long distance carrier referred me to your website, I got a number from you up and running with my carrier in less than 3 days, which is almost unbelievable. Your site is now in my bookmarks and you will get all my future business.

        Best Regards,

Thanks for your help in provisioning a toll-free number for Acumera.
We had specific technical criteria for our toll-free number, and you helped steer us to the best carrier. Setting up the service was a breeze, the toll-free "birth certificate" provided us comprehensive information on our number and carrier alternatives, and the whole process was easy and very affordable.

Thanks Bill for saving my bacon! Last Friday I received a call from my advertising person saying that I had a wrong number in my USA TODAY ad! That ad cost me $384.00 for the weekend. I found that number was just one number off on the 800# I should have had in that ad. I did some research and found the number was avaiable! I found Bills website and called him! He answered to my delight and was able to get that number for me then forward those calls from the ad to my home office! The $49.95 was a whole lot better then totally losing the use of that ad! I got 12 sign-ups for my business off of that ad! WOW, what a relief!

        Thanks Bill

I am very happy with your service and have bought 2 numbers within the last month. I was overjoyed when in response to a concern I had with my first purchase, my phone call was answered promptly by a human being. In fact, it was you, and you were extremely helpful and professional. You patiently took time with me and when I hung up- I actually understood what you had explained. This is a miracle in and of itself. I was in shock that a human being was there to help me- let alone one of the principals. Thanks a lot. I have no need to look elsewhere when it comes time to purchase my next vanity number.

        Sincerely,
        Bob Biales

I deal with my clients on the same personal, professional basis that you do, and my competition is much like yours: impersonal, unavailable, and only interested in "the initial sale". With such a huge amount of competition in helping business owners to get set up and take credit cards for payment from customers, all of the "good" numbers were already taken. Instead, I took a different tact, and tried to find a number that would not only be easy to remember, but that would proactively push them to make the call while it is fresh on their mind. 877-2-DIAL-NOW is working perfectly for me.

Thanks for your help and one of the best web sites on the Internet!

That is the headline that I'd write for Bill and Rita. You see, I got a great tollfree number from them and it was time to implement it, I put down the wrong number. If it weren't for their patience and help it would have been a real problem.

We went back and forth a couple of times with a virtual call forwarding service I had joined. While the new tollfree number is being ported (transferred to be a direct number rather than ringing forward) the service assigned me a temporary number so the tollfree number could forward calls to me. Everything seemed okay. However, after a couple of days I tested the service's forwarding number. It was working. The new service was working. But the tollfree number was ringing into an intercept that said the number was "no longer in service".

That started our journey: I shot off an email to Rita... she replied she would have it working in a couple of hours... I tried the next day but it still wasn't working. I shot off an email to Bill. He and Rita both wrote back and said it was working from New York and New Jersey. I tried the tollfree number from a New York phone but it still wasn't working... so I wrote to them saying, "I keep dialing 888-807 and the rest of the number.

Shortly thereafter I got an email reply from Rita suggesting that the number I purchased was 888-708 not 888-807.

Hmmmmm, I sheepishly dialed the correct number and through some miracle it worked :-/

So, if you have configuration problems with a TollFreeNumbers.com number and if you are dyslexic, as I am, have someone else in your office dial your new number. :-)

My thanks to Rita and Bill for their patience with me.

        Thanks again,
Steve Campbell, an embarrassed but satisfied customer
