Why our 800 Search Service is so unique
We provide a very unique service to our customers and the industry as whole. We’re in the phone business but we’re not a phone company in any traditional sense. We don’t send out phone bills or even charge customers for the small amount of usage we provide with each number.
We’re a Resporg, which is short for Responsible Organization. That means we have the same access into the SMS800 database as AT&T or MCI. But we’re ultimately an internet search service. In plain English, we’re THE internet search engine for finding vanity 800 numbers. We’re the only ones in the vanity number business that aren’t trying to sell you the numbers we’ve already taken. We’ve simply built a better more thorough and creative searching capability to help customers find good numbers when everyone else says there’s just nothing available.
90% of our ongoing operating expense is internet and database related. Our phone company and Resporg expenses combined are probably only about 10%. 90% of our customers find us via the internet (the other 10% are referred by other phone companies or past customers). Over 90% of the effort we’ve invested to set up our business has been internet related, not just building our website, but the databases and programs behind it to do the searches. We’ve tried to provide a lot of helpful information but the core of not only our website but our whole business is definitely the search process. That’s what we spend 80 to 90% o our time doing for prospects too.
That’s why we say, that customers aren’t paying us for the few minutes of service that we provide or the activation or release of the numbers. Those things do cost a little bit, but they’re mainly paying us for our search tools and in many cases our personal help finding better numbers. We don’t charge up front to use the tools, we only charge when someone finds a number. So it doesn’t cost you anything if you don’t find anything. That seems like the fairest way to charge for any search program, especially for specialized vertical search serviceslike this.
That’s also why we try so hard and do so much work to help people find good numbers because that’s the only way that we make any money. And at just $49 each we have to help an awful lot of people find good numbers every day. We definitely enjoy this little niche and the opportunity to help so many customers this way too.

Hello,
I am inquiring today about obtaining a toll free number that could be used internationally. Is this something that your company provides assistance with?
Thank you,
Jennifer Baker

Jennifer,
I don’t do anything for international numbers. Here is a website that may help with some international toll free services:

We are looking at a toll-free numbers that are currently assigned to other companies. Each is a message only that refers the caller to another number. One is to a mortgage company, the other 3 to adult services. Please contact me to discuss whether your firm can determine ownership of the numbers and negotiate on our behalf to acquire the number.

Dave,
The company that owns those numbers is Primetel. I say that they NEVER release anything when you look them up with the Toll Free Search Engine because it’s too long to say they ABSOLUTELY POSITIVELY NEVER release anything. They’re in the Mass Misdial Marketing business. You won’t be able to get those numbers. Sorry!
