As I'm sure others new to obtaining a toll-free number have discovered, trying to learn about the various services, plans, and providers can be overwhelming. There are pitfalls: The fine print of some contracts indicates that the 800-number you obtain through them "belongs" to--or is leased by--the service provider, and if you wish to change providers, you will have to change numbers as well. Yes, that would indicate that the last change to the resporg record was in 04. If it had been disconnected it certainly wouldn’t say that. You could probably call his phone company and confirm that. Ask them about transferring within the same phone company. If you get the same answer twice and you feel confident, then use them. If they won’t help you with the paperwork we can. It’s essentially the same as cutting in line and as long as he signs off on it, regardless of what the phone company he’s with says. It helps if you have a bill copy but that isn’t required.
