We set up computer networks for small to mid-sized businesses. A potential new client has a mostly Macintosh environment. They called us and we went out to do an evaluation of their network. We then sent them a bid. I know they were getting bids from other companies, and I felt we were maybe not in
the running for their business (we primarily work with Microsoft networks but also do Macintosh based networks). The company they said they may go with was an all Macintosh service company. I told them to give me a call at 1-800-MACINTOSH when they decide either way. She seemed very surprised that that was our number. That was yesterday, today she called and wants to work with us!!!!! I don't know if the number gave us some credibility, but it
sure didn't hurt.

If I know a guy who had a Vanity 877 number that I wanted, who by the way just told me that he “let it go?…but it still shows that it has been “in use since ‘04?, does that mean that he may probably still be able to get it back? He said he would sign it over to me.

Yes, that would indicate that the last change to the resporg record was in 04. If it had been disconnected it certainly wouldn’t say that. You could probably call his phone company and confirm that. Ask them about transferring within the same phone company. If you get the same answer twice and you feel confident, then use them. If they won’t help you with the paperwork we can. It’s essentially the same as cutting in line and as long as he signs off on it, regardless of what the phone company he’s with says. It helps if you have a bill copy but that isn’t required.
