822 Numbers?!?!
It started out with just 800 numbers. Popularity soared with portability was first introduced in 1993, to the point that toll free numbers had to be rationed and they set aside 888, 877, 866, 855, 844, 833 and 822 numbers all for future expansion. 888 numbers were introduced in 1996. 877 numbers were introduced in 1998, and 866 numbers were later added in 1999.
Anyone in the toll free business knows this and knows that in the future we may need 855 numbers, but since the SMS/800 currently predicts that the current pool of toll free numbers will last until 2017, there’s very little expectation for 855 numbers to be released any time soon. If the current pool of numbers will last until 2017 when we have over 6 million available numbers, that means that at that same growth rate it would take about 37 years before we would need 822 numbers.
Why you shouldn’t hire people who don’t know about your business to write your articles
Who knows if we’ll even be using anything that resembles a phone or the same phone numbers 40 years from now. And who in their right mind would right about opening up 822 numbers? The obvious answer is that someone made up a list of topics to have someone write about, and they hired someone that isn’t even familiar with toll free numbers at all, to write their articles.

Whoever wrote TollFreeNumber.org’s post about 822 numbers simply didn’t realize that the toll free area codes are being released in descending order not in ascending order. That means they probably aren’t even from the US, not to mention familiar with toll free numbers.
The article is not only pointless, but it makes tollfreenumber.org look stupid for allowing it to be published as well. It also points out another fact that, that they aren’t writing for people, they’re writing for search engines just to get those links on that post to their main pages in their website. The funny part is that they registered the domain name 822-numbers.com too!
They claim to be a “world class‿ toll free carrier but they aren’t even a phone company at all. They’re just a website selling other phone companies services with a lot of marketing hype.
