Searcher be ware!

Search for 800 numbers at your own risk

Searching for 800 Numbers on the wrong website can be a Big Mistake!

It should be illegal for a look up tool to automatically reserve everything it finds, but it’s not. Network Solutions started doing it a couple months ago, locking up any domain name that searchers find available. They do this allegedly to protect their users, but it doesn’t hurt that it forces visitors to get the names they find at their lookup tool from them, charging 3 to 5 times as much more competitive services. This is incredibly frustrating if it happens to you.

A lot of websites out there do the same thing, except they don’t hold the name you want for four or five days, they hold it for 45 days. Some do even more than that. They don’t just reserve it and make you activate it in THEIR name. Some websites look like phone companies but are actually more like domain name squatters that let you submit names and then want to sell you the domain name you found or just checked on their service for an exhorbenent rate or worse yet, to rent it to you. Some will even reserve all of the numbers related to the number you wanted so there’s no other alternatives either.

If you find a number available on our website, we don’t automatically reserve it and lock you in. We only reserve it if you specifically ask us to. We do a better job at helping you find numbers, activating them and giving you better independent proof of ownership in order to make it worth a couple bucks to get you the number you want. If all that’s not worth a couple bucks to you then nothing is and you deserve to take your chances out there. But if you want more help with a better service, you’re in the right place.

What I really liked is that the number was active within 2 hours. I was originally concerned as to how long it would take since we were starting an ad campaign the following week. This is one of the most customer friendly sights I have ever used and at a price anyone can afford. Thanks for the great service and number.FriendShip Sailing Group is the one-stop shop for brokerage, charter, and shared time sailing

It is very unusual to call an online company and get the help you need right away. TollFreeNumbers.com really is an online company with real people to help. Your website and support made getting our toll-free number easy but the greatest surprise was that our number was active in just minutes, really just a few seconds. Great Service. Great Website. Great Job!

That is the headline that I'd write for Bill and Rita. You see, I got a great tollfree number from them and it was time to implement it, I put down the wrong number. If it weren't for their patience and help it would have been a real problem.

We went back and forth a couple of times with a virtual call forwarding service I had joined. While the new tollfree number is being ported (transferred to be a direct number rather than ringing forward) the service assigned me a temporary number so the tollfree number could forward calls to me. Everything seemed okay. However, after a couple of days I tested the service's forwarding number. It was working. The new service was working. But the tollfree number was ringing into an intercept that said the number was "no longer in service".

That started our journey: I shot off an email to Rita... she replied she would have it working in a couple of hours... I tried the next day but it still wasn't working. I shot off an email to Bill. He and Rita both wrote back and said it was working from New York and New Jersey. I tried the tollfree number from a New York phone but it still wasn't working... so I wrote to them saying, "I keep dialing 888-807 and the rest of the number.

Shortly thereafter I got an email reply from Rita suggesting that the number I purchased was 888-708 not 888-807.

Hmmmmm, I sheepishly dialed the correct number and through some miracle it worked :-/

So, if you have configuration problems with a TollFreeNumbers.com number and if you are dyslexic, as I am, have someone else in your office dial your new number. :-)

My thanks to Rita and Bill for their patience with me.

          Thanks again,
Steve Campbell, an embarrassed but satisfied customer

I have truly enjoyed working with you in establishing the toll free number for my business. You were accommodating and personal, and that's the missing pieces in today's business affairs. Thank you for walking me through each step, with patience...another quality that I appreciated. I will refer you highly to others I meet along the way. And I must say, the most impressive act of the day was answering my call in your car at the end of your day. That's service that most cannot compete with.
