Searching our 800 number database live
The 800 Watch email and the Alternatives are from the monthly database we create not the live lookup. That’s why we tell you to click on whatever number you like in the email or the alternatives box to see the LIVE status. If it says it was available but was taken recently, that means that it was available in the monthly database but that isn’t available in the national database when it checks live.
The system works like a search engine with a cached database because they couldn’t go check each page in the results to make sure what they saw there a while ago is still there before they display it for you. And we couldn’t do the thousands of queries in the typical database directly into the SMS800 system or each report would take hours and they’d shut us down in about a day for overloading the system. So we use a cached database that we assemble once a month.
The cached database allows us to do thousands of queries within a couple seconds in our internal database instead of a couple hours and it also allows us to find disconnected numbers which nobody else even sees. And just like a search engine when you click on the result you like it brings you to the live results. This is usually explained or mentioned in the emails and in the keyword section and the search section of the website. But I thought this also warranted an additional post.
If you suspect that another website may have “Locked Up” the 800 number you wanted because you searched for it on their site, send us an email and we’ll look up and show you the resporg history and tell you if it was taken by a fake phone company with a look up tool.

This service was so easy to use and I was able to quickly incorporate it into my TV Commercial being aired this week.
