Register.com partnering with Rolinium?

rolinium and register.comI just saw a blog posting at Strategic Concepts by Lisa DiCarlo announcing that Register.com was partnering with TeleDomains. I can’t find anything about this or any partners at Register.com but Teledomains is an off shoot of MyTollFreeNumber.com, a shared use organization related to Rolinium. Rolinium is one of the shared use companies we warn people about alot but this is very interesting for two reasons.

The first reason I thought this was worth pointing out is that we often see people trying to reach Rolinium, who is notoriously hard to find. Those people might actually be able to reach someone through Register.com now or want to know that they are a partner of theirs at least.

The second even more important thing this suggested was that this would probably be a good time to talk to other registrars a little. I’ve always figured that our system would be ideal for working more closely with one or more registrars although I’ve kind of put that off because that’s not our business. But it certainly has an awful lot of potential for a large registrar. I often say that we’re basically the GoDaddy of the phone number business.

We could check domain names and highlight the toll free numbers in our search results that were available recently and highlight them in a different color. We could also give domain name buyers a list of potential phone numbers which they might be interested in as well. Not to mention giving their whole customer base a list of toll free numbers which relate to their names each month. The potential is huge and we have all the capabilities to do most of this already in place.

So the real question is whether anyone has any good contacts at Network Solutions or GoDaddy? :-) They don’t want to let Register offer something they can’t do better!

I saw this headline on google – I am surprised to see a legitimate company like Register.com partnering with MYtollfreenumber.com – I used to have service with them for 9 months. My company spent at least $40,000 advertising that toll free number (800-IT-TOYOTA), when we notified them that we were going to cancel service and transfer the number to another company, not only did they say no we could not do that, but they said that if we canceled, we would owe them a cancellation fee of almost $1000. Now if you call 800-ITTOYOTA, it goes to a competing toyota dealer. When we first ordered the number with them, they told us a lot of fluff, but it was just to get us to sign. We never paid the $889 bill they sent us, and now they have sent it to a collection company which has listed the debt of our D&B report. I should also mention that they constantly email our company saying that we have a new message waiting, and then they tell us that we owe them money. No matter what they will not stop emailing.

Yes, they are the worst of the shared use companies and we definitely warn people quite a lot about them. I’m very surprised that a large company would partner with them too. They actually stay very well hidden most of the time. Most people can’t usually even find the real people behind them or reach anyone that gives a real name. That’s why I thought the connection was interesting and should be highlighted.

Oh and we’re making a providers section that will allow you to leave feedback on them too. And look for a good number here and you’ll OWN it and be able to take it to any company you want for the service with no strings.

Can we report these folks to the FCC or smsgov.com? They are also known as Bodition and/or NetUpstarts Inc.

It appears they control a number I would like, but they do not return messages or emails. Appears to be a lot of shady companies behind these folks (such as whatalogo.com, whatadomain.com, and others.) I believe hoarding and warehousing 800#s is illegal. Can the FCC force them to release it?

        Thanks.

I wanted to add that this desired number does not appear to be in use.

LOL, smsgov.com is as illegitimate as Rollinium. It was started by Marshall Logan, of TollFreeNumber.org. They give a disclaimer buried down in the website that they’re not affiliated with the SMS/800 or anything related to the government. But the whole website is designed to fool people into thinking it’s some type of watch dog group. But it’s a total scam. They registered it with an address in the Netherlands and never use any names.

But back to Rollinium. They’re just as slimey. They use a kind of drug dealer business plan. They are definitely one of the biggest hoarders of toll free numbers. And you can’t find their ownership information because they’re have hurt a lot of people and are hiding behind a lot of fake names. There’s nothing I can really say or do to help anyone with them. The FCC doesn’t even seem to care about people pretending to be fake government agencies. They’re not going to do very much about Rollinium, but you can go file a complaint with the FCC if you want to. I don’t think it’ll get you the number but there’s no other solution either. Sorry!

This is criminal… the FCC should be ensuring a level playing field, not shielding unethical monopolies. When you go to Rolinium’s website all you get is a link to an email address and no one responds. I filed a complaint… Isn’t there some law on the books that governs how these 800 number dealers must conduct their business? Shouldn’t there be some sort of anti-squatting provision that prevents companies from “leasing” 800 numbers? Shouldn’t they also, at a minimum, be required to disclose who they are? How to contact them?

Thank you very much for your professional rapid service. We are in the long term care insurance business and having a premium 800 number for our business is a must. We were so impressed with the turnaround time in getting our number up which was a matter of hours NOT days like other companies I’ve used before. We will be back and you are one business we’ll be recommending. ltc Long Term Care Insurance

I have nothing but positive things to say about Bill Quimby and his company TollFreeNumbers.com!!! After dealing with other companies and wanting to rip my hair out, I luckily came across TollFreeNumbers.com.

Bill was extremely helpful, knowledgeable and polite. It was a pleasant experience to say the least. I have since referred my other friends to him after easily setting up my own Toll Free Number!

I have been an executive at some of the largest telecom companies for over 12 years before taking my new position at Nasplex.com and PurposeWorks.org . I can not tell you how refreshing it is to work with a company like yours. To be able to talk to you and your staff directly each and every time we call is amazing. Its funny b/c most “communication companies” do not know the first thing about communicating with their customers. It is difference with tollfreenumbers.com. We were able to get a true 800 number within minutes and the number was activated on the spot. But that is not the best part. Transferring it to our provider was so simple and easy that our provider was absolutely shocked. We were so pleased with your service, your updates, your Welcome email and manual that we referred your company to our largest client www.JSM.org . They also were able to get the number they wanted and were so happy that they own the number and you and your staff did not try and force them to get service through some high rate provider. After our first experience with tollfreenumbers.com, we've come back twice more for additional numbers. Launching a business involves lots of hassles, and tollfreenumbers made getting set up with an 800 number and virtual PBX service as easy as it could possibly be. We appreciate all of the help and information that we've received from the site, from employees and from Bill Quimby himself. No question we'll be back the next time.

First let me say thanks for taking the time to personally speak with me to help me select my 1-888 number. I was thrilled on how easy it was to actually attain a number, I was even more thrilled to get the actual number I wanted. This number will make it so easy for my future customers to remember how to call us. I think the key to having a successful business is providing easy to remember contact information and I was able to achieve this goal by using your service.

It was a pleasure to speak with you Bill. Thanks again for being there for us to provide this wonderful service. I will definitely spread the word!
