Using the Powernet Global (PNG) signup and transfer form
We are making a directory of toll free providers to assist customers in selecting toll free numbers and we try to make it as easy as possible to transfer your number. We provide an 800 Number Transfer Form for PNG in most of our toll free manuals. They are generally the best for going to a cell phone or voip line or for a very small local or rural phone company. The best rate plan is usually the 3.9 cent one. The main exception is if you use it less than an hour or two most months. Then the 5.9 cent rate is better because it has no monthly fee.
That form is a combination of the account set up form and the toll free number transfer form that we have developed specifically for numbers that have already been activated by TollFreeNumbers.com. One of the most important tricks to speed up the account set up portion is to include the front page of a current phone bill, in the same name and address that you’re putting the toll free number into. It does not need to be the bill of the Ring to Number, but it does need to be current and in your name and address. This helps to speed up the account setup process (for new accounts). We also have a page that answers Questions about Filling Out the Resporg Form if you need that.
All you do is fax or email in the form with your phone bill page
We don’t tell you to call, go to their website or email PNG directly because like many of the most competitive resellers, they don’t sell directly. Transferring an 800 number also requires signing up on paper anyway. Calling and asking sales questions or questions about transferring your number really won’t help you because you won’t reach the people we use who understand our system and shortcuts. Most people there as with most phone companies don’t know very much about toll free service and they usually give you just the worst case scenario in terms of the time it takes.
We’ve simplified and sped up the process for you
The regular transfer process usually takes about two weeks, although they may even tell you up to 30 days, just to cover themselves. But if you include a phone bill copy and use my form and people, numbers from us are usually set up in about two days instead of two weeks. But if you don’t use our form or try to do what anyone else tells you, don’t expect it to take less than two weeks or for anyone to be able to track it.
Joe Horton is the master agent that processes the orders and will email you back if there’s any issue or you didn’t complete anything. That includes the social security number or Federal Employment Identification Number (FEIN) which as the form says, is required. This page explains why competitive phone companies need this information. I can follow up with the people who I work with if necessary but please give them a little bit of time to process it before following up, especially just to make sure they got it. If you want a receipt just enable the receipt option on your fax machine. If the fax number on the form doesn’t work fax it to us at 800-FAX-0095. It’s not as fast as sending it directly but is a good alternate if necessary.
You are NOT required to use PNG in any way. I just try to give customers some good options and have worked hard to iron out the process and make things go through quickly and easily for you.
