Unfortunately, when we say they NEVER release anything we mean it! They never ever release anything at all, not to anyone at any price. We call this organization the Black Hole, because they suck up everything in the world and nothing ever comes out.

You basically have three choices. You can beat your head against the wall, getting frustrated and sore, until you give up. You can complain if it makes you feel any better and also wind up getting nothing. (You really don’t need to complain to us) Or you can be more creative and look for other options that are more readily available.

We don’t bash them or beat ourselves up over them because that doesn’t do anyone any good. We aren’t going to go into why you can’t get any numbers from them here or on the phone because that doesn’t change anything. If you feel you need to beat yourself up enough to realize that what we’re saying is true, knock yourself out. But don’t expect anyone that knows what they’re doing to waste any of their time on it for you.

If you’re pursuing this for your boss or a client, the best thing to do is to use our Keyword Lookup because when you tell someone the one they wanted is impossible, it helps to give them other options that are. It also makes it look like you spent hours and hours researching this and it helps to focus them on possible options rather than picking another impossible option out of the air to send you after.

We really are sorry that the number you’re after is totally impossible. But it’s better to know that it’s impossible, that it doesn’t matter who you are or how much you pursue it, up front than making you find that out yourself. One more important thing to do, even if you want to continue to pursue it, (either because you think you’re better at negotiating than anyone else or because you think they must be willing to sell it at some price – which they’re not), is to find a backup. Phone numbers don’t get jealous either so you can start with the best one that’s available now and still continue to pursue that perfect number. But you won’t be holding up your advertising in the mean time and if you do get the perfect number you can keep the initial one until all the material it’s printed on is gone and it’s not getting any more calls or you can use it for special promotions that you want to track the response rate on. Either way it’s smart to play around a little with our tools to find the best number you can get more readily in the mean time.
