Is Tollfreenumber.ORG Lying AGAIN?
In a recent post that showed how TollFreeNumber.org appeared to be lying about when they was started, I wrote that If they’re willing to lie about this, what else would they be willing to lie about? I really didn’t think I’d see something else that’s this blatant literally just a couple days after I posted it. But the quote below is from one of their many recent
no-news fake press releases:
“Toll free numbers extend market reach and draw national clientele. In fact, the average business will see a 600% increase in revenue.”

I also have to point out that I don’t have anything at all against Tollfreenumber.ORG. They’re not really a competitor any more than a hosting company is competitor to a domain name registrar just because they include a domain name registration. But when I see statistics this outrageous which obviously don’t have a shred of truth to them, I feel like I don’t have any choice but to point that out for the sake of the industry. I’m only doing this in hopes that they’ll at least make up more believable statistics next time.
This has happened before when 800response made up statistics saying that 58% of people prefer vanity numbers vs numeric toll free numbers. That’s just not true. The public prefers numeric numbers, but they actually recall vanity numbers better which increases the response rate more. I am pretty sure they made that statistic up too, but it was carefully worded not to promise anything. Tollfreenumber.ORG’s however is much worse not only in the amount they exaggerated but because they essentially promise those insane results saying that the average customer will see them!
Has Tollfreenumber.ORG lost all Credibility?
I want to promote toll free numbers as much as anyone, but I don’t think anyone needs to say stuff like that to sell anything. For the record, there’s no one in their right mind that could possibly say with a straight face that the average customer will see a 600% increase in revenue! Toll free numbers are so extremely cheap, literally just a couple bucks a month, that even a small percentage increase will bring a great return for any organization. There’s just no need to multiply the potential increase by 25 to 50 times, not to mention promising that to the “average” customer.
I realize that they’re only putting out all those press releases with absolutely no news, just as an excuse to buy links which is really worth a whole seperate article. But this looks like the second untruth for Tollfreenumber.ORG and it’s a whopper that hurts the whole industry. Tollfreenumber.ORG lost all credibility in my book, when they let whoever they’re paying to do these, put stuff like this out without even having anyone read or review it.
It’ll wind up costing them much more money in the end to have Aarron P. Morris, tollfreenumber.org’s lawyer, send us another angry letter and complain again. But even if they do that, I’ll just ask them to prove what I’m saying isn’t true, like I did when they backdated their start date, which I’m still waiting for a response on by the way.
