Is there any chance of getting an 800 number that doesn’t go through?

This question usually comes up when people call and get some type of intercept message or even if it just isn’t answered the way they were expecting. The best analogy that I sometimes use to answer this is to ask them, Is there any chance of being able to date someone that’s married? It’s not technically impossible but it’s definitely a long shot. The same is true for getting that number. If it says it’s In Use with the Toll Free Search Engine at TollFreeNumbers.com that means they’re married, whether it goes through when you dial it or not.

I know that’s not what you want to hear. People often want to assume that means it must be possible to get. But that’s kind of like assuming you should be able to register a domain name simply because it doesn’t bring up a website when you type it into your browser. There are a lot of reasons why a domain name might be registered but not bringing up a webpage and there are a lot of reasons why a toll free number may be active in the national database even though it’s not answered when you dial the 800 number.

Can we track down the 800 number?

There’s no easy way to tell if a married person will leave their spouse and go out with you and there’s no easy way to tell who would want to sell you their 800 number.
