I found the process very easy and was pleasantly surprised to see my number working within minutes of ordering. I found the user manual with the birth certificate very helpful. It gave me the assurance that I actually owned the number out right (which I think is very important) and the manual gave some good background and understanding off the toll-free numbers business. It [the manual] was also very helpful in me selecting the right PBX provider.

We searched for hours and it seemed like everything was taken. We couldn't find anything that worked for our business but you came up with some amazing "1-800" options. We love the one you got us, 1-800 TRIM KING and have had a lot of customers compliment us on it. I would recommend you to anyone!

The use of your “Instant Number Lookup tool was invaluable. It has often spawned ideas for additional searches which is priceless. It made the whole process so much easier.

Bill and the TollFreeNumber team made it super easy for us to get our toll free number. We even changed our mind once, and they helped with that.
I've recommended them to other companies I know looking for the best and easiest way to get Toll Free Numbers on the web.

I have no idea "how it happened" but you "made it happen" without a hitch.
I asked for a vanity number, having no idea how to activate it, etc. You also helped me search for the perfect match for my business. I called the number yesterday and it works............just like you said it would. I was amazed!
Great Service, Professional interaction with a real "layman"........!

I was very pleased with your service. It was easy to check if my vanity number was available. But what I appreciated more was the assistants in finding the appropriate phone service to transfer my number to. I was asked what my needs were and I was told the most reliable and cost efficient company to use. As a commercial real estate broker I don't have the time checking every phone service available. I even got a discount mentioning your name. Now I call that service.

That is the headline that I'd write for Bill and Rita. You see, I got a great tollfree number from them and it was time to implement it, I put down the wrong number. If it weren't for their patience and help it would have been a real problem.
We went back and forth a couple of times with a virtual call forwarding service I had joined. While the new tollfree number is being ported (transferred to be a direct number rather than ringing forward) the service assigned me a temporary number so the tollfree number could forward calls to me. Everything seemed okay. However, after a couple of days I tested the service's forwarding number. It was working. The new service was working. But the tollfree number was ringing into an intercept that said the number was "no longer in service".
That started our journey: I shot off an email to Rita... she replied she would have it working in a couple of hours... I tried the next day but it still wasn't working. I shot off an email to Bill. He and Rita both wrote back and said it was working from New York and New Jersey. I tried the tollfree number from a New York phone but it still wasn't working... so I wrote to them saying, "I keep dialing 888-807 and the rest of the number.
Shortly thereafter I got an email reply from Rita suggesting that the number I purchased was 888-708 not 888-807.
Hmmmmm, I sheepishly dialed the correct number and through some miracle it worked :-/
So, if you have configuration problems with a TollFreeNumbers.com number and if you are dyslexic, as I am, have someone else in your office dial your new number. :-)
My thanks to Rita and Bill for their patience with me.
Thanks again,
Steve Campbell, an embarrassed but satisfied customer

After brainstorming and going through the process all over again I found a great 800 number, called my contact and she told me that the number had been reserved 2 days before. Instead of going back to the drawing board we used your site and by the beginning of the next week we had our vanity 800 number up and running and one more marketing tool at my disposal. I am so glad I found your site!

I should add one thing though. Your toll free number is not indestructable like a Diamond. It can be used indefinitely, but if you don’t pay your bill to the phone company providing the service or if you cancel the service without transferring the toll free number to another provider it will eventually be disconnected and returned to the available pool.

I’m confused. I read somewhere about someone that lost their number. I was under the impression that once I own it, they can’t take it away.
I just paid for this toll-free number and it is mine for life – please confirm this is correct and explain this more.
Thanks in advance for your time – I look forward to hearing back from you soon.
Thanks,
Brian Prince

Brian,
We don’t say a number is yours for “life” because there’s very little that you own that is guaranteed to last forever. We give you a birth certificate not a guarantee that it’ll never die, or that you don’t have to feed or maintain it.
It’s like your house. You may own your house but if you stop paying your taxes eventually they are going to take it away from you. You own the right to use that number but if tell them to disconnect it, or stop paying the bill (which is essentially telling them to disconnect it) eventually they’ll get rid of it and either throw it back or give it to another customer.
Maybe a better analogy is a timeshare. You buy a timeshare and you own it. You even get a title. But just because you own it and even have a title to it, doesn’t mean that if you don’t pay the maintenance (and keep it active) that they can’t ever take it away from you.
Essentially it is permanently yours. It doesn’t expire and you have the end user right to keep using it as long as you want. But you also have the right to cancel it and the phone company has the right to cancel it if they’re not getting paid for it too. Or you could reverse the last part and say that although you have a right to use that number, you also have an obligation to pay the phone company for the use on the number or you will eventually lose your end user rights. Doesn’t that make sense?
