Include your local number for international customers

Toll free numbers are great but don’t forget a local number if you market internationally. Our toll free numbers in North America are good for callers anywhere in the US, Canada and a few small territories, but they’re not able to be used by most of the rest of the world. Some countries have a dial-around access number that lets callers pay the cost to get to the US. But unfortunately there’s no good solution for international 800 service and most people internationally won’t be able to reach you.

I recently read an article on a blog ranting about not being able to reach companies on their toll free number. So if you deal with international customers, make sure you include a local number somewhere too. That’s also a good backup in case anything goes wrong. You may not be able to put it in your advertising but you can put it on your website which is usually listed in your advertising. So don’t forget your international customers.

    International callback (now about 14 years old) is a proven means for global callers anywhere in the world to connect to others using US service providers. It is used by millions of callers to bypass their local monopolies in many countries and save money. BUT one of the cool by-products is that users of callback can reach any and all toll free numbers in the US or Canada! So those customers that will not pay international rates to reach your business with your local number can be given an option that saves them money and builds your business at the same time.       I would like to ask you one more question: I read on your site that you help us find the best number, activate it and we’ll get 100 minutes or 30 days for free. Then we just pay whatever company we want to use for the ongoing service.

      Ok. But what should we do if we would like to put Toll Free Number into Russian local phone number? Is it possible? If yes, what company for the ongoing service do we need to choose: Russian or American?

        Yes, it’s certainly possible. Most regular phone companies don’t forward internationally but some do, like Telcan.net or Callture.com for example. You can also get a US Skype number and forward the calls to that number and then answer that through the internet in Russia or anywhere. The temporary service wouldn’t forward internationally but you can transfer the number to a company that does what you are asking for.

            Any number you get from us can be transferred to any phone service you want for the ongoing service. We give you two things nobody else gives you. The ability to select any phone service you want and proof of ownership so that nobody can ever hold you hostage by your number. We don’t charge any fee for the minutes, you just pay whatever company you want for the use. And if someone cheaper comes along you can transfer to them at any time. That’s the best guarantee of all.

            Most regular phone companies don’t send calls to Mexico. But there are a few services that will forward calls to Mexico, such as Telcan.net. So any number you find with our site can be activated and transferred to a company to forward to Mexico.

              1. I use your service to order the 1-8xx-number i like.
              2. You (Like GoDaddy) become my 1-8xx-number registrar
              3. I can choose any service such as TELCAN (like a HOSTING COMPANY)

              Now what if i decide I don’t want to use TELCAN lets say after a year. Do I have to inform your company to make the changes and move me from TELCAN to another service provider? OR by using TELCAN Service I already moved away from your company and now TELCAN as my REGISTRAR have to move me to another service provider?

              Sorry for asking silly question! but just a little confused here :)

                You don’t have to notify us to transfer away from Telcan. You don’t even have to tell Telcan (no pun intended!) to transfer away although you might want to make sure they cancel things and don’t bill you for anything else, by mistake. You just get the transfer form from the new company and they’ll send the request with your authorization to the releasing company. It’s totally portable. The only thing that would prevent that is if you owed the releasing company money. Your ability to transfer the number doesn’t supercede their right to get paid for the service they provided.
