High end numeric numbers
Customers sometimes come in expecting to get numeric numbers like 1-888-888-8888 or 1-800 300-3000. They give extreme examples like this not realizing the excessiveness of their request. We have a section for nice numeric numbers at http://www.tollfreenumbers.com/premium/ But we don’t have numbers as extreme as that, nor do they really need numbers that excessive either.
Lets say that you were interested in a number like 1-800-400-2000. We find better numbers than anyone else, but we can’t get you anything like that and even if you could buy one like that it would probably be at least $100K+. Depending on the situation I would say that 1-800 numbers with “?00″ for the prefix and “?000″ for the last four digits would usually be more, but lets just say you could come up with that for $100,000. An ‘800’ ending in 000 alone is roughly $10 to 15K and an ‘800’ ending in 00 is $1K (these are four star numbers in our numeric section). These are just round numbers but they are pretty accurate in many ways.
When I say you really don’t need a number that good, I mean that you’re not going to get 100 times the benefit of a 1K number from a 100K number. You get diminishing returns from increasing the value of the number beyond a certain point, while the expense increases exponentially. That’s why we have 1, 2, 3, and 4 star numbers from $99 to $999 but we really don’t go beyond that. First of all, you can’t get those consistently enough and secondly you get such diminishing returns for the money that it’s not really appropriate or necessary.
One of our 4 star numbers will give you credibility and will help you look like a long established successful company. I’m sure you can find better places to waste more money if you need it, but this just isn’t it. I’ve built my business by being up front and treating the customers the way I would treat really good friends which is why I say you don’t really need a number like that.
