There’s a lot of misleading crap out there on toll free websites
This is a question I received recently which I thought was worth publishing not because I get it that often but because it illustrates the point about a lot of misleading crap (sorry there’s just no other way to describe this) that you can find, even on websites that look very authentic and nice. Unfortunately it often takes a little bit of knowledge of the industry to recognize this type of thing for the marketing BS that it is.
What type of service do you offer? Is it fiberoptic?
It sounds like you’ve been reading marketing BS on tollfreenumber.org. There’s absolutely no such thing as a “fiber optic” toll free number or fiber optic toll free service. If you search for that term in quotes on google, you’ll find almost no hits because tollfreenumber.org simply made it up to make them sound good but it means nothing. Tollfreenumber.org tends to have a LOT of half truths on their website.
More Misleading Claims
Tollfreenumber.org hasn’t been in the toll free business since 1999 as their website states. They started their business in 2002 and the owner had an internet hosting company in 1999 and he had a link on his website to another company that offered toll free service. Tollfreenumber.org appears to be the people behind the Fake SMS website smsgov.com too. They repeatedly claim to be a world class provider but in reality they’re not a phone company or even a reseller. They aren’t even a resporg so they can’t even get toll free numbers from the national database directly. They’re an affiliate that is selling other companies services, not even reselling them under their own name. They don’t do the billing or customer service let alone have any phone lines other than the ones that they answer.
Unfortunately people like that who are totally unaccountable tend to get away with a lot of crap in this business. Honestly there is a lot worse in this business. That’s why a lot of people tend to stick with their local phone company because at there they know they’re dealing with a legitimate phone company, even if they’re a little bit more expensive. And you can transfer any number you find with us to any phone company you want to use it with, even a fiberoptic toll free service if you can find one or if they invent one, so in that sense I could say yes we allow you to transfer any number you find with us to any type of service you want.
On the bright side, I’ll probably never run out of things to talk about. I try very hard to be the opposite of that in my business as I think you’ll see if you read a little of my website. I tend to be overly honest even when it upsets other people and I’m also very open and accessible. That tends to make me a little bit of a target for people to anonymously say crap, but I can take it. I’m probably too much of a boy scout at times, but I believe being totally honest and really helping the customer is the better in the long run even if they seem to be getting away with crap like that for a while.

Easy as 1,2,3... I wish everything was so simple!!!

[...] Unfortunately in the toll free world there isn’t really any phone police or anyone that validates anything. That’s probably also true of a lot of Internet Marketing companies. And I don’t do this to knock the product or people in question. I haven’t reviewed or compared their product at all. I’m just using what appears to be a slightly exaggerated claim to point out what I wrote about recently, that there’s a lot of misleading things out there. [...]
