A One Time Extension of the temporary 800 service
We give you free temporary service for the first 30 days or 100 minutes of use. That gives you time to transfer the number to whatever phone company you want to use it with for the ongoing service. But what happens if you forget to transfer your 800 number? The temporary service expires, but it’s still your number. You can still transfer it to whatever company you want even after the temporary service has expired. You can also get a one time extension if you need it.
You really don’t need to get an extension if you don’t have advertising out with the number because the temporary service doesn’t affect your ability to transfer it. But if you have advertising out we understand the importance of receiving those calls and can give you a one time extension of an additional 250 minutes or 30 days for $25. We call this a “One Time Extension” because we can’t do this repeatedly.
If you have a large amount of advertising and/or are expecting a high volume of calls you can pay buy multiple extensions, 500 minutes for $50, 750 minutes for $75 or 1000 minutes for $100. If you pay $100 or more up front we also make sure to give you notice before shutting off the number and will allow you to pay for whatever time was used at month end or upon receiving the transfer request.
The purpose of the extension is to give you additional time to transfer your toll free number to another carrier not to provide ongoing service. We’re a toll free search engine and include a little bit of service at no cost with each number. We’re not a phone company and aren’t setup to provide the ongoing service. For instance we don’t provide billing detail or charge the tariffs or taxes etc. But situations come up sometimes, so rather than shut anyone off, if they require a second extension that is $50 per 250 minutes. Third extensions are $100 and fourth extensions are $200. This gives customers an incentive to transfer their number if they need ongoing service and represents the fact that there is typically more and more potential use and abuse with customers that repeat extensions.
By the way, no phone company should take more than 30 days to transfer a number. Many will give you worst case scenarios but that doesn’t mean I’ll actually take that long. Here are the typical transfer speeds for different companies.
