The email will come from billquimby@800watch.com and the subject will end with 800 WATCH.  Every report is totally customized and never sent unless it’s requested but the system still produces such large lists that it seems to be considered spam sometimes.  So if you have a friends list or a white list, you should probably add this. 

The two basic types of numbers we find

There are numbers available and there are numbers in disconnect, which is the process of becoming available after a number is taken out of service.  Disconnect is a 4 month period that numbers go through before being returned to the spare pool where they are available.

Numbers are broken down into two separate lists, one of disconnects and one of available numbers.  This makes it easier to get the type of number want as well as making it easier to see the new numbers which come out in disconnect before being available.  Disconnected numbers are also better on average than numbers in the spare pool since the good ones almost always get taken the instant they come out.


Timing and colors for numbers in disconnect

We use colors to show the age of numbers in disconnect.  Red ones are labeled New Disconnect because they are on the list for the first time and because we want them to stand out to people who receive the list every month and scan the list quickly. 

The Grey numbers are in the fourth (last) month of disconnect so they’re coming out right away.  There is a good chance that they will already be out.  We are work

The disconnected database is updated monthly

Just like the way a search engine actually searches it’s cached version of the internet, we create and search our own proprietary version of the database for the 800 WATCH.  This allows us to do thousands or even tens of thousands of queries that would probably take several hours to do in the live, database within seconds. 

Also like a search engine, if you’re interested in one of the results the 800 WATCH finds, just click on it and it’ll take you to TollFreeNumbers.com and lanuch a live search for that number.  That will give you the current live options available for that number, such as, Immediate Activation, 15 day reservation, or Backorder.  Unfortunately though, because the results in the email are based on the cached version which is updated once a month (usually around the middle of the month) some numbers that say available are already going to be taken.

This is a very large database and things come and go from it all the time, so if you’re interested in something don’t hesitate because there are thousands of other people looking for similar things and they’re given out on a first come first served basis.  For more information about the disconnect process see tollfreenumbers.com/backorder/.shtml.

How much do they cost?

A typical query with just 4 to 8 keywords generally generates over 1000 possible numbers to check.  Even if you took just 30 seconds or so per query it would take at least 8 or 9 hours to do.   It would probably cost hundreds of dollars to do this manually and if someone made another automated service to do it, it would have to cost something in the neighborhood of $50 a month.  All together it costs us about $10,000 per month to provide this service, yet give it to you for free!  Our goal is to do several hours worth of searching for you every month and make it easy to just glance through the list in just a few seconds and see all of top of the possibilities for your unique terms.

If you find something you like in the available pool it’s only a $49 one time fee. Regular phone companies don’t charge you much if anything for doing the search but they charge more for the ongoing use which winds up costing you much more in the long run. We can help you find a better number, activate it faster than anyone and give you better proof of ownership, all for a one time fee of $49. And then we can even give you some options that can probably even save you more than the activation fee within a couple months. Numbers that are in disconnect are harder to get. They take more time and effort and cost a little more but they can also be the best numbers since other vanity number companies haven’t had a chance to grab them yet. Backorders cost from $195 to $795 depending on the area code. There is also a $4.95 up front fee to request a backorder for the research.

The next step if you want a number

If you like any number in this email, all you have to do is click on the number. It’ll take you to the website, launch a search and then give you the options to reserve, activate, or back order the number right online.  It’ll actually bring you to a page that explains the process and then gives you the link to the secure order form too.  We are happy to answer questions but you should probably read the explanation page first and you have to do Activations, Reservations and Backorders online.  We can’t do these things over the phone or via email.

How to change or control your query

There are buttons at the bottom of the 800 WATCH email that allow you to cancel this request, to cancel all your requests, or to merge all of your requests.  I know the email removal buttons in some (generally unsolicited) emails don’t work or actually send you more email, but these buttons do work.  It’s also important to use them, especially if you submit several queries because you you may not want to receive every query you do every month. 

The words used to generate your query are also on the bottom of the email.  The number there also represents the seconds that the query took to process and send and the server that processed your query (we have several servers and are adding several per month).   You can’t change or remove specific keywords from your query yet, but we will try to add that in the future.

Why you need to review this every month

In order to really find the best number it’s very important to be persistent. Toll free vanity numbers have a fairly high turn over rate.  One of the reasons for this is that phone companies and often even the customers don’t usually realize or care what the number spells. 

In an ideal world you would have time to come back to TollFreeNumbers.com and do all your searches every month when we update the database.  But in reality none of use have the time to do that every month.  It would probably take several hours to do, even if we remembered and knew when the new database came out.  That’s why our 800 WATCH is designed to be re-run and sent out to you every month.
