Don’t get trapped in the wrong 800 Service
Someone called this morning to tell me about the lookup tool for another service that was copying some of our features. They can copy our features but they’re not copying the most important thing. The most important reason to use our 800 number look up tool isn’t actually the look up tool but our business model. There are other toll free search tools and some are trying very hard to copy some of the features that we offer.
Unfortunately no matter good any toll free service company’s lookup tool is, their business model is ultimately the opposite of ours. And unfortunately if you search for a number that was available you’ll suddenly find it’s not available any more except from the dishonest site that reserved it just because you looked it up. Our look up tool and AT&T’s are the ONLY safe look up tools that never reserve numbers just because you search for it.
Nobody else does INDEPENDENT lookups
Over 90% of our income comes from one time setup fees and we don’t provide or even sell any specific toll free service. We’re literally the only toll free company in the country that can say that. That means that we’re not trying to keep you on our service. Everyone else makes most if not all of their money from providing the ongoing service and they can’t help but want to keep customers on their service. And when small internet only companies want to keep you there, most of them automatically reserve whatever number you search for and quietly claim the ownership of toll free numbers for themselves.
They say it’s not hidden because they include it in the fine print of their terms of service. But most people don’t read all of the fine print not to mention before even doing a search on their website. No matter how they try to spin it, they use tricky legal jargon to hold customers hostage, if you find the number on their website. Don’t let the fact that they charge something for the toll free number up front fool you, they probably still claim ownership of the number. Many hide extra fees and some even charge you what I call a vindictive fee to release a number on top of having charged you all along for the service.
Our lookup won’t trap you and you’ll own your number
That’s why we warn people how important it is to use our independent look up site at TollFreeNumbers.com where you won’t be trapped into the wrong service, and then to transfer the number to whatever service you want to use it with rather than activating it there, so they can’t say that it was their number and you can cancel the service but you can’t take their number with you if you want to leave. It doesn’t matter how attractive their service or look up tool is, if they’re selling the service and that’s how they make their money they’re not going to empower you to go anywhere you want, because they don’t want you to go anywhere.
Being able to transfer your number is what keeps them honest and they don’t like having to be honest and you being able to transfer your number away at any time but that’s what we give you that nobody else “selling” a specific service can do for you.

Why don’t we show you per minute rates? at TollFreeNumbers.com says:

[...] We don’t show you the rates up front because you’re not committing to a specific rate. If you’re the type of person who wants to know everything up front know that this is the only way to guarantee that you always get the best rates and the best service. You’re not psychic and neither are we. But I can tell you that just because a company looks like they’re the best on their website doesn’t mean that they are down the road. Just because something sounds cheap, doesn’t mean that it really is. Don’t be fooled into getting your number directly from any service that claims ownership of the nu…. [...]
