How not to get someone to call you back.

If you want to get someone that’s busy to take the time to call you, don’t just email them a one sentence email asking them to call you.  I’m on the phone all day long and answering emails at the same time and late into the night.  If you can’t be bothered to write anything about what you need, it’s hard to get time to call you back. 

 

The other thing that makes this so ironic in my case is that my 1-800 MARKETER number is listed almost place that my email address is.  So don’t ask me to explain why anyone would email me asking me to call them instead of just calling, but they do. 

 

The only thing worse is when people call to confirm if we got an email or a fax.  If you need to get confirmation that a fax went through, turn that option on in your fax machine.  If you want to ask if we got an email, send an email.  Otherwise, email loses it’s effectiveness.  If you want confirmation of an email ask it in the email. 

 

Enough ranting.  I just work hard and try to provide a good service to as many people as possible and need to work efficiently to do this.
