Get more of the MONEY Calls

One of the best benefits of using an IVR menu that I hadn’t realized ahead of time is that it let me as a business owner handle the most important calls that are harder for other people to do. Running a growing small business, one of the trickiest things to do is to let go of the every day tasks and stay focused on the most important things. And the menu in our IVR system helps us do that by giving callers an option for customer service first and then an option “for sales or to speak with Bill Quimby directly”.
That lets me handle the sales calls and the issues that people think require my attention while letting the customer service changes and things go to a couple other people that are very competent on that. Another perk is that sales calls don’t usually require being in front of the computer as much as customer service calls do. So I tend to be able to answer calls on my cell phone from almost anywhere much easier, including in the hammock on my deck when it’s nice out.
So using a virtual office not only lets several people work together as if they’re in one office, even from different states, but it also lets me focus on the most important calls and frees me up giving me much more flexibility to run my business from my cell phone, which is priceless. And if you press the option for customer service you won’t usually reach me, but if you press the option for Sales or Bill Quimby, if I’m the first one in line for that. So the extra features and IVR options allow me to handle more of the most important calls and it lets the couple people we have in our small business work together very effectively.
