Ways to find the phone company

We have a lookup which unfortunately had to be removed when we changed to the Wordpress platform so that we didn’t have to fix things in two places. We are also coming out with a new look up tool so rather than set it up and then have to redo it for the new lookup, we decided to wait until the new version is done before we can set up the secure version again, to give out the phone company information. The new version should be ready by mid December but I wanted to point a few alternatives in the mean time.

One system that a lot of people use for the phone company information is the Ameritech hotline, 800-337-4194. I probably called it at least 100,000 times over the years before I started my own Resporg.

Another way right here on our system is to use the monitoring field on the Advanced Keyword Search. Go to http://www.TollFreeNumbers.com/keyword/ and put the number you want in the monitoring box and put at least one keyword in the top box. If you just want this one time, and don’t want to get another email update each month, uncheck the box right above the field for your email address.

You’ll get an email (often in your spam or junk mail folder) within a minute or so with the phone company and status of the number or numbers you put in the monitoring box. And if you put just the 7 digit body of the number without the area code it’ll give you all four toll free area codes.
