I thought it was too good to be true...but your quick response and set up got my new business up and going. As a "start up operation", getting all of the business elements to mesh at one time can be a real challenge. By reserving and activating my "vanity 877 number", I could get my advertising, packaging, business cards, and promotional graphics ordered and underway. That's critical and a big step forward. I only ran into a slight glitch in transferring the 800 service to my phone company; I don't think they understood your business. I was given your website address from customer service of a large telephone company with the instructions to use your site as a way to search for toll free numbers that are available. When I found a number I liked I was told to contact this large telephone company and they could register and activate the number. I had a quick question so I called TollFreeNumbers.com and talked directly with Bill. I was completely caught off guard with a live person answering within the first few rings, not the typical telephone company! Bill answered all my questions, gave great advice on using his website and hints of what I should be looking for with regards to my business. Being a small company and trying to save money, later in the day I called the large telephone company to get clarification on their pricing. I was informed it would take several days and also not previously mentioned there was a $20 activation fee.
Bottom line is TollFreeNumbers.com had my toll free number setup for $49.95 and was completed and working in less than 8 hours. (The majority of that time was looking for a number I liked. Order, activation and tested working in less than 2 hours)
Large Telephone company would have taken a minimum of 2-3 days, $20 setup fee, $23 per month, and .05 cents per minute usage. Second large phone company has not returned a call to let me know if they can forward the toll free # to a cell phone.

I have my toll free number already printed and in use and would still be waiting for a call back from the "big guys." I can not think of anything you could have done better. Keep up the good work!

I have VOIP service
I contacted my local VOIP provider and they were clueless (I think I may change providers!).
I contacted Powernet Global and they quoted me 16.9 cents per minute for calls from the continental US. I assume that high rate is due to the calls being connected to a 808 (Hawaii number). I assume that with VOIP I can get a California area code (where the majority of my Clients are) and get a better rate by pointing the 800 number there.
Is there a better solution?

Don’t worry too much about your voip company being clueless about toll free service. All voip companies are pretty much clueless. I wouldn’t change companies because of that though since they’re all pretty bad at toll free. Fortunately you do NOT need to use the company that provides the local line to be able to get the calls to that local line. In fact the local company that provides your physical line is usually the worst company to request.
Yes, sending the calls to Hawaii is more expensive but you will get around that by using a voip number from the mainland. That is actually a good choice for any international service. And yes, Hawaii is pretty much the equivalent of an international call in many ways. PNG is generally one of the best for going to a voip service. It’ll be 3.9 cents per minute and $2.50 per month for that. If you want that though you should use the form we give you in the toll free manual. That sets up an account and transfers the number all with just one form, much faster than if you send it to anyone else. It also speeds the account set up part up if you send them the front page of your phone bill.
