I needed something to brand my company's name, some easily remembered telephone number that would catch a person's eye. It had have three qualities: a) easy to remember, b) shock quality c) make people laugh. In other words, I needed to be sure that once a person saw my telephone number, they'd NEVER forget it! Sure enough, after playing with your search tools, in under 15 minutes I had my toll free number 877-DOG-CRAP!
We've been in business for some time now. Mostly due to the success of the marketing edge that your search engine gave me. It was the best money I ever spent. Your hassle-free free service and complete explanation of the process is the best! I recommend your website to any entrepreneur looking for that competitive edge. Thank you Bill, for your experience and fabulous marketing tools!

Thank you for your time and help; I really appreciate it. After talking with Bill on Friday, I figured that you all had released it because I've found you all to be very prompt and efficient. It has been a pleasure working with you all, and I will definitely keep you in mind for my future needs.

Bill Quimby is now 1 of my heros!!! I've been trying to get a vanity # for months now on my own. I had his web site bookmarked during that whole time & finally after throwing my hands up in frustration, I contacted him. Less than 12 hours later I had my number. I sure feel like a big dummy now, why didn't I do that to start with? And to top it off, he is a really nice man who is very helpful, caring & turned out to be a blessing to humanity.

I have been very impressed with the services you provide. I am thankful for all the personal attention we have received. Specifically, the 30 minutes Bills spent answering all my questions (via phone) on day one. I would recommend your service to both family and friends.
Best of Luck,

Alot better than any other service I called.Your service is very customer friendly. No one else could guarantee the number and you had to choose their long distance service before I even bought it.

What I really liked is that the number was active within 2 hours. I was originally concerned as to how long it would take since we were starting an ad campaign the following week. This is one of the most customer friendly sights I have ever used and at a price anyone can afford. Thanks for the great service and number.
Truly appreciate you help.

Having read Bill's book, I called 1(800)MARKETER in hopes of having someone in a call center transfer me to someone else who would then transfer me to someone else who might be able to give me some information about contacting a company that held a phone number that I was interested in using for advertising purposes. I was obviously very impressed when Bill himself answered, and became more impressed as the call
continued: Not only did he answer my questions, but then provided me with a valuable service at a fair price, with no high-pressured upselling of any kind.

This was just an excerpt of an email that I thought was relevant and may be helpful:
If not giving out that information or in some cases giving out the wrong information increases our chances of getting a number for a customer (either for you of for someone else) we have an obligation to do that. We do this to protect you as much as everyone else.
You wouldn’t want us to give out the phone company information undermining your chances to get a number or not allow you to backorder numbers would you? We usually only do that for people that seem to be trouble makers and seem to be causing more trouble than they’re worth. But the bottomline is that we don’t do this to get $4.95. We do this to get numbers for our customers. And anyone who seems to be taking advantage of the system has to be watched and limited.

This is a recent email conversation we had that I thought might be helpful in case anyone else winds up in this situation:
Craig,
Our obligation is to help the customer backordering the number. Would you want us to give the details of one of the numbers you backordered out to other people before you backordered it? Our system is designed to maximize your odds of getting a number you backorder with us.
Some customers that backorder a lot of numbers don’t get ANY information, if there’s any reason to believe they may be going through the phone company directly.
That isn’t because we want to hurt them, but our obligation is to do anything we can to help customers that BACKORDER numbers to get them. If you don’t backorder a number we NEVER give out the specifics. The website is set up to give people an idea of when things come out but not tell them exactly. They have to backorder the number for that.
Bill
Rita,
Are you serious? I am an existing customer inquiring about the details or a number that I recently cancelled, but WAS considering reserving no or in the near future. I cancelled it because I didn’t want it to become a surprise charge on my card without knowing the date.
It was a pretty simple question. Not to tell you how to do your job, but it seems like pretty bad customer service for you to respond in such a short, non-cooperative way.
Craig
The order is cancelled therefore I am not providing the information of when it’s set to release.
Thank you
Rita
Rita,
that wasn’t my question. I wanted to know when it was set to release from whoever holds it now. Thanks
Craig
Craig,
You canceled that backorder.
Rita
The purpose if anyone bothered to read this far is to point out that we can’t give out the details of a disconnected number to anyone that hasn’t backordered it.

I should also point out that we watch the final results of numbers that are backordered and then canceled very closely. If we miss them, we miss them, but we’re obviously don’t like anyone going around us.
