Backorder Updates

800 number database update processWhen you place a backorder it has to be reviewed manually. A number of things can and do happen and it’s not backordered until we review it and confirm that it’s backordered for you. We update the backorder databases every couple days but things come and go all the time, so it does require real people to make the list and check it twice.

After a number is backordered it isn’t removed from the website instantly and the emails still include that until it gets removed usually within a couple days. We try not to promote it to anyone else after it’s backordered but if anyone else does backorder it before it’s updated and out of the list, we have to apologize and turn those away.

This does happen more frequently when the new database comes out. There is a flurry of searching and the updated reports go out to tens of thousands of people. We try to update the system quickly at that time of the month but there is always at least one gorgeous number that a dozen or more people say they want right away. We only take the very first one and have to turn the rest away.

Our computers are great but no computer is perfect and the system is constantly changing too. That’s why we have people that know what they’re doing here to run things and help you.     If we order a number on backorder and you can’t get the number, is there a refund? Or another question is, can somebody beat you to the draw and get it ahead of you?

      We only charge you for the backorder if we get the number. We only refund the $4.95 to research and place the order if the number was already backordered or taken out of disconnect since the last update, because in that case you wouldn’t be able to tell. We don’t refund the $4.95 if we try to for you but don’t get the number, because we can’t refund beyond 30 days and that’s really for doing the research for you.

      Backorders are NOT guaranteed because it’s a race to try and get them when they come out. We get about 50%, but again we only charge you for them if we get them so you don’t need to base the backorder decision on the percent chance of getting it. I hope that helps.
