Taxi Cab 800 numbers

I always say that you have to be more creative and not just look for the most generic or obvious terms for your business. This is harder for people in some businesses than others. Everyone in the GOLD business thinks they need something that ends in GOLD. That’s NOT going to help them stand out because it’s exactly what everyone else in their business uses so it kind of defeats the purpose. The same thing is true if you’re in the TAXI business and you limit yourself to the word TAX or CAB.
Even Taxi Cabs need to differentiate themselves
The taxi business is one that’s harder to differentiate yourself in than most because people just want a taxi, and may not care very much what company it’s from. But you can still come up with other terms, and you probably have to, to find anything decent. If you’ve already done a couple queries you know what I mean. There just aren’t any really good numbers with generic terms like that. It’s not the 90s.
Think outside the box more though and you can still come up with interesting options. Try including your State initials in front of a generic term like Taxi or Cab. Look for your city name. There’s nothing that says you’re familiar with and local like your city name! Try less obvious terms like CABBIE, RIDE, DRIVE, YELLOW or less obvious phrases like HAIL A CAB, HAIL A RIDE, WE’LL DRIVE, DRIVE HOME, AROUN TOWN or SHORT RIDES etc.
Show a sense of humor or personality like EDS CABS, or GET LOST. Your first reaction is that GET LOST is the opposite of what they want, but if you made an add that said how you never Get Lost, or that you won’t tell anyone to Get Lost, you could make it work. And a sense of humor means they’ll remember it after much fewer repetition.
Even if you use generic terms for your company name you could still try your company initials. Try focusing on the strongest selling point. Even if you think you’re just a taxi, maybe a word like CLEAN or SAFE could be available in front of one of the more generic terms. You have to do something to stand out and be noticed. I don’t care if you have to paint your cars TEAL (if that’s allowed) and call yourself the TEAL TAXI, or the PLAID CAB, or CHEVY CAB.
The competition for consumers attention is increasing more and more and you’ve got to fight harder than ever to stand out. It takes some work and thought to figure out a way to differentiate yourself and find a good number. But when this more unique name and number is going to make ALL of your advertising come together much better than the generic term you were hoping for at first. I hope seeing some real examples (which came from a phone call I just had) will help you.
Unfortunately nobody knows your business as well as you do, so it’s hard to do as good of a job as you can in terms of creativity, but hopefully this may help spark some ideas or give you some additional directions to try. If you have any other questions about searching for something in this category post them here and maybe your questions and answers will help the next person in your shoes.
