Backorder Charges

We only accept one backorder per number on a first come first served basis, and everyone else after that gets turned away. These numbers take more time and effort and resources to get than numbers which are currently available, so they cost a little more. The cost isn’t based on the value of the numbers, or the size of the client, etc. It’s just based on the area code since 800s are harder to get than 866s.

866 #s – $195
877 #s – $395
888 #s – $595
800 #s – $795

These are one time fees and only charged IF we get the number for you. We charge a small fee of $4.95 when you place a backorder, to do the research for you. We only refund the $4.95 fee the number was already backordered or if it isn’t in disconnect any more.

Bill~~thank you so much for all the information. I can see how the number would be very desirable, and thus snapped up in seconds. Is there some way to determine what our position is in the queue? Would you recommend we register for other numbers as well, as a backup?

It’s not a “Que”, we only accept ONE backorder for any number. Anyone else is turned away. Then when it comes out, it’s a race to get them. We get about 50% overall.

You can backorder multiple numbers at one time for no extra, if you find multiple numbers that would work. We will do the research and give you the dates for each of them. We can’t change the order that they’re pitched but that does give you more swings. And you can always ask to cancel any number that you don’t like as much that comes out before the ones you really want. So some people do multiple backorders and then cancel everything else as soon as they get one or however many they needed.

We have a client that likes an 8-0-0 number in disconnect, but may have an issue with the $795. I’m going to put the number on back order, but is there a way you might be able to work with us on the $795?

        Thanks again!

          Suzy,

I often say that we’re the Go Daddy of the phone number business because we are the only people in the vanity number business that charges based on the time and effort necessary to provide the service, not the value of the numbers. We really can’t change or renegotiate the prices for every customer and do the volume necessary to cover the cost of providing the service. Maybe we’re not quite up to the size and scale of a huge supermarket but we’re certainly a few steps above a garage sale or street fair, where we can haggle over the price. If you can haggle over the price isn’t that kind of like admitting that your prices are too high?

I also don’t personally think it’s a little unfair to charge different people different prices. I think that’s one of the big differences between our service and all of the other number squatters in the vanity number business. They are more like car salesmen and are ultimately trying to get as much for every car as they possibly can. That means you have to be careful how much you tell them you need a number or how big you are because they will jack up the price. We don’t do that.

So the bad news is that we don’t play with the pricing much, but the good news is that we don’t play with the pricing too. I should also point out that an ‘800’ number in disconnect is one of our most expensive things we offer (because they are one of the most difficult things we do!). The vast majority of our customers only spend $49. If anyone can’t afford $795 for a toll free number, that is perfectly fine. They should just look for a number that will work for them in the available pool, or at least a disconnected number that isn’t an ‘800’ number.

I run a very small charity dedicated to fighting Teen Dating Violence (TDV) and have been looking for a toll-free number for our organization for weeks. It was with relief that I found your tool for searching for available numbers.

Your website was very helpful especially the inclusion of suggestions as that prompted me to apply more creativity in my search for "the perfect number."

I'm happy to say that I've found it: 1-877-STOP-TDV

We are very pleased with the toll free number we received through your service and with how we have been treated throughout the process. When we started looking for a toll free number, we were completely ignorant regarding the whole process, and your website educated us and was a big help every step of the way.Thank you for your excellent care!

I stumbled onto your site yesterday after massive searches for help in reserving a vanity toll free number. I rarely post responses online as I am very busy with my business, but I had to take a few minutes and praise you on your site.

The fact that you allow customers to reserve numbers for free while they check which ones to order is remarkable enough, but your search engine and suggestion tools are simply brilliant. It seems that your commitment to customer service is inspiring and the value of your service certainly exceeds your nominal fee. 1-800 wine list

My partner, Robert, and I were just hopping to be able to put a 800 number on a cell phone. We had no idea we would find a vanity number that was perfect for our eCommerce business! Your system helped us find the right number very easily and the number we chose was up and running shortly afterwards. You did all we wanted and more.

We are a small consulting company that helps customers with there voice and data needs. Many times I look at what they are paying for long distance charges and 800 service. There are companies out there that are stealing from there customers. How can they get away with this? Tollfreenumbers.com is a very no brainer web site that allows me and my customers to find a number that is very effective in there marketing plans and keeping the cost down.

Thanks Bill for everything you do.

I just wanted to compliment you for your customer service that was provided by Rita, when I had questions regarding the internet transaction that I was attempting. Rita very patiently worked with me to finalize my transaction, and when I had a follow-up issue with the ring to ANI being incorrect, I was again able to speak with Rita, who resolved the issue while we were on the phone, and she advised that she had credited the duplicate transactions that I had made, as well as providing other tips for working with your website.Erickson Retirement Communities based in Baltimore County, Maryland
