Other phone companies use the reservation process to lock you into their service and they’re never the cheapest service, since that’s how they make their money.  They just want to sell you the ongoing use and really don’t care very much about finding a good number.  That’s where we come in.

We do a better job of the activation process than anyone else and we provide the temporary service to get you started at no cost too. But the real value of our service and what most of our cost and effort goes into providing, is the search process. That’s what sets us apart and what attracts people to us.

It cost tens of thousands of dollars per month just to maintain the database and search capability we’ve developed. We let our visitors use everything for free and only charge a one time search fee when they want to activate a toll free number. That way we’re only charging for results which is the fairest way to operate, especially for any type of search process.

We have no paid advertising, and we are the only independent toll free search engine that isn’t locking you into one phone company or service. We provide by far the best search process and tools available anywhere on or off line, honest independent information and help selecting and transferring your number to any company you want.

Other phone companies may give away the activation function without a separate charge, but they don’t provide as much help, any independent ownership documentation, or do it as fast or efficiently. They give it away like the peanuts at a bar, selling only one beer. Sure they will give you peanuts for free if you drink the one brand of beer that they sell. But you can’t take their free peanuts with you if you want to go to another bar to get a dit drink. We give you a buffet with more food and better service. We charge for it, but you can have your choice of a wide variety of different drinks. It doesn’t take a lot of vision to understand that our real food and better numbers will be much better for your business than just eating the free peanuts. No matter how much you like a particular beer, it’s still much better to have a choice.

    3. Other costs
    (I know your fee)

      That’s kind of like asking your registrar exactly how much it will cost for the hosting (that they don’t provide). The real answer is that it depends entirely on what company you select for the ongoing service. The cheapest overall that we work with at the moment that does a really good job and is very quick, is 2.95 cents per minute and $1.99 per month.

      But the whole purpose of our service is to empower you to be able to go to any carrier you want. That would determine the price you pay. What I can tell you for sure is that your ability to transfer the number is what ultimately guarantees that you’ll always have a competitive rate and decent service and even the right type of service for your needs which will very likely change down the road.

      There’s no charge to transfer numbers with any major or reputable phone company. There really isn’t any other strings or hidden charges. I admit that there really isn’t a lot of information about the cost of the ongoing service on our website but that’s because you’re not locking yourself into anything, except the best number that you can take with you for the rest of your life or the life of your business to whatever service you want. Toll free numbers seem confusing, especially when you don’t do this very much, but we try to provide more information and explain it and better too. There’s really no strings or catches to it!

              You can forward a toll free number to any local (non-tollfree) number. We give you free service for the first 30 days or 100 minutes of use, but you’ll have to pay whatever company you want to use it with for the ongoing service. The cheapest ones go down to about 3 cents per minute if that helps. It’s very easy and inexpensive, but you do have to pay a little for the toll free service from whatever company you pick for it.

                I’m back again to have a look. I understand that an available number will cost today 08/08/08, $49.95+$8.88? The regular price is $49.95+$49.94? I thought that I remember paying just $49.95? Perhaps this old mind is slipping, I had better look up my receipts for the previous numbers. Or is the cost only $8.88 for today?

                      I’m not sure I understand your question. If you’re asking how can it be a one time fee if numbers are also getting disconnected. I only paid a one time fee for the can of soda I’m drinking but I’m going to throw it out in a few minutes. The same could be said for almost anything including my computer my couch or my house. A house is a good example of having to pay additional fees even after you purchase it too. If you don’t keep your house taxes active eventually they’ll take it away from you even that you own it. I won’t go on about this because I’m not actually sure that was your question. But I hope that helps. Let me know if you have any other questions or need help with anything else.

                              Like everyone else I heard that vanity 800#s were good for business but when I called Embark, my phone company for a vanity number it was like talking to my kids in the morning to 'get up'...I got no answers.
